What is the best AMP for 2 kicker CVR's 12" 4 ohm subwoofers (mono 1 channel or 2 channel) bestway 2 wire them?...  I have two kicker CVR's and I want to know what the best amp would be to push them to the best of there ability. They are 2 kicker cvr's 12" 4ohm any other info needed just ask. Please any info helps thanks

2)   Do yourself a favor and buy either of this amp: JL audio, JBL, Infinity, Alpine or MTX. They are the most reliable amps in the market for rating of power than the off brands. Most professional installer like Unique Audio in the East Coast and West Coast Customs only use JL Audio, JBL and Alpine. Most of there clients are celebrities. - bbt91945

car amp wiring and wattage help?...  rite i have just got a wire to phono (RCA) adapter, i am planning on connecting all 4 speaker wires from the head unit an converting them to phono, then a 5 meter lead to the 300w 4 ch amp in the boot, my head unit gives out 4 x 50w max, so there is 200w max sent to the amp before its amplified right? so will the amp produce 500w max? i no that the pre-outs on my head unit put out 0 watts but i want to use the power already produced by the head or it will go to waste as the 4 ch amp will be powering my components and my 6x9s, i already have an amp running a sub separately, please help

1)   you will just be using the amps power - curtis

2)   You will not be using the head unit power amp at all by using the line output to your power amp. What ever the power amp are rated for in RMS is the wattage you will be using. You can not combined the head unit and your power amp together to get more power. - bbt91945

3)   it will just be like hooking up subs but with little door speakers they will be pushed by the amp you will have to run two sets of RCA cables a power to battery a ground and a remote wire your head unit should have 3 sets of RCA jacks it should say sub, frnt spk, rer spk the front and rear is what you want to run o your amp - Xtream Syco

Car stereo stop working after my i turned it up too loud?...  my car stereo stop working cuz i put it too loud...im not quiet sure whether to by new radio or speakrs. When i turn it on, all i can hear is static sound. Help!!!
i took it to teh shop, they told me to get a new radio...im so confused

1)   what kind of static sound? you might have blown your speakers - Ivan S

2)   sounds like you blew the speakers, try it on different stations, make sure the wiring is still intact. if all else fails id buy new speakers. - nothing

3)   have a friend come over an connect his speaker to your stereo then you will know if it your speakers.

I can't figure out my stereo code?...  I have a 2000 Honda Civic GLi and someone crashed into me so I took it to the panel beaters to get it fixed, when I got it back the stereo just came up with CODE.



I have looked in my glovebox and ashtray compartments but couldn't find it. PLEASE help. It is driving me up the wall having no stereo.



If you need any details just ask and I will get them.



Also I don't live in America so that site when you put in the VIN number and etc doesn't work for me.
It didn't come with any manuals when I brought it. There is a sticker like way back in the glovebox but I can't read what it says.

1)   Have you checked your manual? I know it sounds simple but for the most part, manufacturers place the code somewhere in one of the manual books. If your car came with instructions to use the stereo it might be in there. also The code was originally on a sheet of little stickers that maybe somebody stuck in the book or somewhere in the car (Glove box?) If not, check with your local dealer - AudiFTW

2)   Your owners manual will have the code and the instructions on how to program it in, other than that its a trip to the dealer. - pbleek

3)   if you can get the 8 digit serial number off the back of the audio unit, you can call a honda dealer and sometimes over the phone they will give you the radio code, sometimes they make you come in to make sure you didnt steal the radio. also sometimes there is a sticker around the glovebox that has the serial number on it so you dont have to pull the radio out. - Shane

Car GPS battery details?...  Hi

I'd like to buy Navman GPS. Some models say the battery lasts for 4 hours. I'm wondering this means on a long trip I need to recharge the battery??? Please let me know, I'm new to GPS

1)   You plug the GPS into the lighter outlet. That powers it and charges the battery. You could run the unit for 4 hours without it being plugged into any external power source. As you shop for GPS see which one offers the best deal on map upgrades. Though I favor Garmin for it's quick performance, but their map upgrades are expensive, though the first upgrade is free. - don r

2)   I am not familiar with the navman gps but have had a couple of other types, while mounted in their cradles in the car they take power from the cars power supply. when being used by hand outside the vehicle their own battery will need recharging after a certain period - John

3)   i have a garmin and it needs constant recharging. its quite annoying plus it is slow and takes me ridiculous ways to get places.

i bought it because it's convenient and i thought i would save fuel by never getting lost.

turns out this GPS and many many others do exactly that. think they want you to get pissed off and buy a very expensive one that doesnt do that. - hotplates
