Some good bass subwoofers?

Question 1
Some good bass subwoofers?...  Well i want some Bass sub's im going to upgrade from a bookshelf to subs, i was looking at kenwoods 2 12's in a box for 200 at best buy

And i want to connect it to a reciever to play in my room Wich i know is possible all my buds have theres set up like that But i heard woods arnt really good bass speakers so im asking what are some good bass speakers???

1)   dont buy kenwood subs for 50 extra dollars you get your self some kicker cvr 12's they are pretty good subs and they pound. - alex

2)   I have two 12" kicker CVR's. I got them in a ported kicker box online for $200. Many say they lack SQ but i think they sound amazing AND can beat like crazy. Id go with those - Jake M

4)   Getting good bass in home audio is a lot harder than in a car because of the size of the listening space, and with that much power it will be even harder.

If your friend's set ups are truely "good" it's going to take some time and effort to come up with something comparable, and a kenwood car sub wouldn't be a good place to start IMO.

Which 6x9 car speakers are better?...  Hi there, i have a question abut car speakers. I need new 6x9s for my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE. I have found 2 pairs in my price range but idk which ones to get. Heres the Specs;

2)   The Boss is the better of those two. However, don't expect a lot better than stock until you get into the >$100 range. The material from which the speakers are made has a lot to do with it. I recommend save your money until you have around $150 or so, and get a set of Infinity Reference 6x9's. - Matt the MoparMan

How to Set Digital Clock?...  My mom has a '98 Saturn Coupe and she doesn't know how to set the clock on it. :P Help?(:

1)   Look in the owners manual of the car. There is also a button on the dash that say H and M (H for hours and M for minutes). Push the H to change the hours and M for the minutes. - bbt91945

Do i need an amp for my subwoofer?...  i dont have an amp for my 12 inch fusion subwoofers.. do i need one? how much would it be with installation total?

1)   if u want a lil bass yes u will need an amplifier - "BOOGIE-714"

2)   Most likely unless you have some unheard of monstrous head unit you will need an amp to get out of the sub what you probably bought it for. Now what size of amp depends on the rms wattage of your subs and whether they are Dvc or Svc and @ what ohm you plan to run them. Price varies greatly for amps. Installation kits around 100$. Most audio stores offer free installation with purchase of equip - shane

what size amp do i need for two 12'' inch 1000 watt subs..?...  there pionneer TSW306DVC...

1)   1.if the subs are 1000 watt max then each sub is 500 watts rms meaning thats the amount of contunious power they can handle so in this case you would need an amp thats between 1000-1200 watts preferably a one or two channel amp.



2.if the subs are 1000 watts rms then you would need an amp thats between 2000-2300 watts and make sure that your subs are hooked up at the right ohm load, an ohm load of 2 ohms is the best you get full power from your amp(s) and sub(s). - alex

2)   They're dvc 4's with an RMS rating of 400w. FWIW - RMS and peak have no relation at all. RMS ratings actually mean something, peak numbers do not.



You're looking for an amp around 800w rms at 1 ohm or 4 ohms.

For the 1 ohm option you could go with something like the Hifonics bxi1210d. For 4 ohms you'd need a big 2 ch which would be bridged. - N2Audio
