How can I bridge subs to a 4 channel amp? Help I'm installing today?

How can I bridge subs to a 4 channel amp? Help I'm installing today?...  I'm Helping my friend install subs in his truck i've installed befre but with mono block amps he has a 4 channel how can I wire 2 10" subs to a 4 channel amp I'm instlling in like and hour help!!!!!!!

1)   4 channels right???





Um take sub number one to channel 1 positive (1 wire of the two coming from that sub) and then channel 2 negative (the second wire from the sub)



then sub number 2 to channel 3 positive and then channel 4 negative (same as above) - dante

2)   Use a Rca cable Y adapter and tie the Front channel and Rear Channels together get an equal signal. You dont want one sub palying the front channel and the other playing the rear channel. Next you can use the front channel bridged to one sub and the rear channel bridged to the sub. To bridge and amp put you positve wire on Left positve terminal and your negative wire to the right negative terminal. do the same for the other sub - Joe

3)   If the amp is capable of operating in 2/3/4 mode and the 2 subs are the only speakers it will be powering, your best power solution would probably be to wire one sub to the bridged connections of channels 1/2 and the other to channels 3/4.



Not knowing the amp brand and model, it's not possible to tell you which terminals are used. Some amps include a diagram with the designation "bridged" showing which terminals to use. For many amps it will be the first terminal on the first channel and the last terminal on the 2nd channel. If the terminals are not shown, and you don't have the manual, try the positive on one channel and the negative on the other. If it works, that's it. If not, try it the other way around. - PimpMyRide

problems with a dual navi xdvdn9131?...  i got the new dual dvd/nav cd player and it worked fine for a couple days, but now when i go to navi or put a SD card in the side of the screen all it does is says LOADING across the screen. i put the SD card in an adapter and plug it into the USB port in the front it reads it fine.... please help

2)   Sounds like there is a problem with the navi sd card reader. Plugging in the adapter in the usb port kind of rebooted the navi. Thats why it kept saying loading. - Steven J

What gauge wire should I use?...  I have a hifonics zeus zxi 8408 hooked up to 2 12 inch alpine type Rs. I had an 8 gauge wire, maybe 10 gauge before from my old amp, but after hooking the hifonics amp, my wire fried. Should i use a 4 gauge wire power wire now? and how big of a fuse?

1)   it depends on the rms per channel, and the length u will hav ur amp from ur battery - Tx Guy

2)   try the 4 gauge and 100 amp fuse but i would also turn the gain down on the amp as well as a 2 gauge ground wire - j_la_02

Question about my car's speakers.?...  I have a Pioneer Super Tuner III D head unit, that, from what i could find, puts out 40W per channel, and my car (1997 honda civic) has 4 speakers, two back, two front.

The two in the back are 400W 4 way speakers.

The two in the front are 100W speakers.



The problem is, the only my driver's side REAR speaker works. My thought was that they didn't work because i don't have an amp, so obviously my head unit can't power all of them.



I'm going to buy an amp regardless, but do you think that's the only reason why they wouldn't be working? or would buying an amp possibly not solve the issue.



Also, the driver's side front speaker worked for a little while, but now doesn't. (and as far as i can tell, the wire is ok)

1)   The speakers don't need to have 100 or 400 watts, those are maximum limits. Either your wiring is bad or the speakers are or the head unit isn't working. - Bill M

2)   The problem could be with either your speakers or your head unit. Did you recently put in the unit? Check all the wires to your speakers ( if you are useing the foctory wires the wires could be broken ) also check the radio on some other speakers ( take a speaker that you know works and check the wires from the radio with it.you may need to replace the head unit if the speaker wires on the back of the unit don't work. You shouldn't need an amp for the speakers but they would sound better with one. - Dogg
